Hello and welcome to Retrofit Kentish Town, a sub-group of Transition Kentish Town. We have come together to plan for retrofit in the Kentish Town area (NW5 post code and adjacent areas). We aim to encourage, educate and enable people to start retrofit projects on their homes and businesses.
We recognise the urgent need to reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions to help slow climate breakdown and reduce fuel bills. There is a lot of information about the importance of installing insulation and low carbon heating technologies to reduce energy use, but planning the works can be a confusing process. Retrofit Kentish Town aims to offer support, guidance and information to assist you.
With temperatures rising, we also need to consider the need to retrofit our homes and local area to keep buildings cool and reduce the impact of overheating.
One possibility is forming groups of neighbours who can develop projects together, to pool resources and help facilitate progress. If you are interested in this we would like to hear from you.
We would also like to hear from people who have started the process and who may have information to share about suppliers and contractors.
