There are grants you can access to help fund measures to reduce energy use in the home:

Camden Climate Fund

For individual households:

The Camden Climate Fund is open for applications! Up to £15,000 is available per household as match-funding. This round of funding closes 30th September 2026.

You need to go to the Commonplace platform to apply: camdenclimatefund.commonplace.is/

Here are the 2026 Household Fund terms and conditions . There have been some changes, the most significant being the exclusion of window upgrades from funding eligibility:

The Camden Climate Fund covers:

  • Insulation (solid wall, cavity, under-floor, roof and loft insulation)
  • Low carbon heating upgrades including the replacement of a gas boiler with an air or ground source heat pump
  • Lighting upgrades
  • Secondary glazing other energy efficiency upgrades as recommended in an EPC or Whole House Retrofit Plan.

Open to:

  • Homeowners (freehold or leasehold, including Council Leaseholders)
  • Private tenants
  • Private landlords

You need to have an EPC or Whole House Retrofit Plan (unless you are installing one of the following measures- loft or cavity insulation, air source heat pump or solar panels). See our webpage for details of possible accredited consultants.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)– £7,500 towards a heat pump if you are replacing your fossil fuel heating system (eg. gas boiler), available to all. The is applied for by the heat pump installer and taken into account when they provide a quotation.

WARM HOMES PLAN

ECO4 grants are being replaced by the Warm Homes Plan, which provides funding for low-income households to improve their homes.

To qualify for the Warm Homes: Local Grant applicants need to meet the following criteria:

  • Household Income: less than £36,000 per year, or receiving certain means-tested benefits (eg. Universal Credit, Pension Credit).
  • Home Ownership: home owner or rent from a private landlord
  • Energy Performance: homes with a poor energy rating, typically between EPC bands D-G.

Grants can be used for a variety of energy-efficient upgrades, including:

  • Insulation: improving wall, roof and floor insulation
  • Heating Systems: Upgrading to low carbon heating systems, such as heat pumps.
  • Renewable Energy: Installing solar panels.
